Quesadillas, calamari, chicken with fries—let’s just say you’d eat here all the time if you were a Columbia student. The space features the same vintage Bakelite radios as the downtown branch, and draws professors, students and locals for inexpensive comfort food. The menu is eclectic—empanadas, pastas, burgers and the heralded (but bland) herb-roasted chicken. Heaping desserts, like strawberries with chocolate-rum whipped cream and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, are simple pleasures. Many of the menu’s cocktail variations (mango Cosmos?) sound like dessert, too.
