My girlfriend and I visited Randy's for the first time tonight. It was the worst service I have ever received in my entire life. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers with waffle fries. Not only did the food take FOREVER, but we were charged 2 dollars more than the large menu said. We expected to pay $4.50 for each burger, but ended up getting charged over $6.00, (a price that was also different from the paper menus, which had them listed at about $5) PLUS we paid extra for the fries. On the menu, the fries are listed as part of the deal. On top of all of this, the woman behind the desk was incredibly disrespectful. We left the restaurant but returned within minutes because we realized we hadn't been offered a receipt. When we got inside, they got mad at US for not ASKING for a receipt, and that we should have known because of a tiny paper sign that prices had increased. I asked to speak to a manager, and the woman behind the desk pointed at a man sitting down eating and talking on the phone. We told the "manager" that the customer is always right, and we shouldn't be made to feel as though our money isn't worth it, and we don't deserve respect as first- time patrons. They pointed fingers and deflected responsibility, as if hospitality was a foreign concept. We left after getting our receipt, but within seconds, we opened our trays and realized that we had been given curly fries. I called from right outside the store, so as not to cause another scene, and was told that they ordered waffle fries from their vendor but were given curly fries instead. We should go ahead and eat the fries because they taste just the same. I asked to speak to the manager, and was given a woman to speak to on the phone. I asked why the manager had somehow changed in the 5 minutes since I'd left, and was told that she had stepped out for a moment, and he had to take charge. That was a complete lie. I saw her cowering in the corner the first time we had returned, and she hadn't bothered to take over the situation and try to resolve our problems. They NEVER truly apologized (only fake apologies-- "we're sorry you feel that way") and said they could only give us store credit for the NEXT TIME we come in. Pshh, as if we'd ever do that again. I asked over and over for our money back, but they just COULDN'T make an exception because we had left the premises. I know that service in NY isn't always great, but it seems like they went out of their way to make sure we had a terrible time. I wish I could give them a negative amount of stars. Absolutely HORRIBLE.
food is absolutely amazing!!! the down south cuisine is to die for, their ribs tips with fried mac an cheese an collards greens are excellent . love this place . totaly are great deliverance from the culinary wasteland on nostrand avenue, brooklyn..... love you randys muahh!!!!!!!
