Time Out says

This David Rockwell–designed Mexican restaurant has vivid terrazzo steps, a two-story blue-tile water wall and backlit pressed roses that brighten the first-floor bar. The frozen pomegranate margarita packs a punch, as do the 40-plus tequilas. Try a flight and you may never do another solo shot again. The guacamole, an excellent bar snack, is deservedly famous.

Meh. To be fair, I went there at 4pm on a weekday so I imagine the atmosphere wasn't what one would normally experience, but I was just not impressed. The guac has too many tomatoes and costs $16!!! Our meals were ok, but I would have liked more vegetarian options. The prices are high, the place seems very gimicky, and the decor doesn't really make any sense? Why the divers?? I guess they are a good conversation piece.  It was something near Lincoln center, which is what we needed, but I would not go back. The staff was very friendly though, and they do make the guacamole table side which is always fun to watch!

Though Rosa Mexicano is your typical expensive chain restaurant, I still love it! Great, authentic Mexican food with a fancier twist, great drinks (especially margaritas), and a chic atmosphere. This is in the perfect spot if you're looking for a meal pre- or post-Lincoln Center events or even if you're looking for some guac after walking around Central Park. Their bar area is pretty small, and gets incredibly crowded, so I definitely recommend going there for a sit-down meal.

I love the atmosphere in here, its great for dinner with a big group or just you and a pal sitting at the bar to watch the game.   The food is your typical overpriced Mexican and the table side guacamole, well I've had much better.  That aside, I've been here for apps/drinks and left full and a little tipsy.  Bottom line, don't expect great or cheap Mexican but you'll have a great time.
