Salsa Y Salsa
No mere burrito-and-margarita joint, this addition to the packed Chelsea restaurant scene mixes eye-catching decor (red orchids painted on pale-pink walls, an orchid-shaped chandelier worthy of Liberace’s living room) with attentive service and a lengthy menu of favorites. Duck flautas arrive in a sundae glass, with layers of guac, sour cream and salsa; a quesadilla oozes rich chicken mole. Whole red snapper smothered in peppers, olives and onions is big enough for two; even the simple enchilada de pollo is worth a return visit.

When wondering around Chelsea, your options for cheap eats are slim to none. Except for maybe a Subway Restaurant, but who wants some dinky little sandwich when you can settle down with some authentic Mexican grub. Even with it's delicious lunch specials (and it's seriously loaded margaritas. No joke, you're going to feel buzzed after two) this place isn't packed during peek lunch hours, which is ideal. You're allowed the chance to feast without being rushed or feeling crowded. Their burritos are absolutely on point and about the size of your face so be prepared to be a happy little piggy. It might not look like much, but this is the spot to be if you're looking for something scrumptious and affordable. Key terms if you're a struggling college kid.
