Shaffer City Oyster Bar & Grill (CLOSED)

Sorry, you can’t pick your fish from the enormous tank at the lovely wooden bar. But you can order from the excellent oyster menu, which has dozens of selections, accompanied by texture and taste descriptions. Or start with grilled shrimp served on a crunchy risotto cake with sweet-and-sour chipotle glaze. Follow with tender red snapper fillet atop crisp haricots verts and aromatic jasmine rice. The wine list is ample and smart; the menu even suggests the right port to go with the molten-chocolate soufflé.
