Curry Row is looking less rough around the edges, as restaurants like this one, with snazzy decor and a refined menu, replace the old curry houses. Bright orange walls,stone archways and candles provide a seductive setting; St. Germaine stands in for sitar music; and in place of an all-you-can-eat buffet are chef Muhammed Ahmed Ali’s specialties. Expect properly spiced dishes such as chickpeas stir-fried with coriander, cumin and cinnamon and fenugreek-scented Atlantic salmon crowned with tomato-masala.
