The woman behind Sushi D, Eileen Wu, was slinging sushi for 16 years at Court Street’s Inaka before she opened her own place in Fort Greene. Sushi fans will find the usual suspects—spicy-tuna and California rolls, sashimi plates—along with more interesting specials like the “Greene”: asparagus, sweet tofu, watercress and cucumber. Wu isn’t afraid to spice things up. Her seafood soup packs a piquant punch, and her yellowtail tartare gets a hit of jalapeño-ginger sauce. If you need a beer to cool your palate, come prepared; Sushi D is BYOB.
