This East Midtown sushi spot serves up precision cuts in a cosy atmosphere that is tough to beat. Grab a place at one of the bench seats and settle in for some great eats or, if you want to pair your food with a show, perch yourself at the bar and watch while the chefs work their magic.
The menu covers off all the standard fare you'd expect on the menu of a Japanese joint – tempura, sashimi, maki and nigiri all star. But the appetizers are definitely worth your attention, with standout dishes including a mix of enoki, shiitake and white mushrooms sauteéd in butter and garlic, and gindara shiokoji, broiled black cod marinated in rice malt.
Not sure what to chose or just want to be surprised? Opt for the omakase menu. All you have to do is decide how many pieces you want and the rest is left up to the chef. And for those wanting to take the whole experience to the next level, don't forget to consult the all-knowing sake sommelier.
