Time Out says

Chef Nicola Accardi serves regional Italian fare—Puglian, Roman, Sicilian—in a century-old Italian deli in Hell's Kitchen. Look for pasta dishes like the pappardele with a veal porcini mushroom ragu, as well as pizzas made in two wood-burning ovens from Naples.

If there was ever a restaurant that epitomized the 3 star review, it's Tavola.

The food is fine. The decor is fine. The service is fine.

Don't get me wrong, you'll definitely enjoy your meal here. After all, it IS an Italian joint, and to fuck up red gravy and noodles is a pretty remarkable feat. Tavola's menu is exactly what you'd expect. Pasta in every shape and size. Standard meat items. A pretty robust pizza menu. And they seem to execute everything pretty well, but there's just no creativity here.

I will give Tavola credit though, for being a semi decent option for dinner in literally the most deplorable part of Manhattan (southern Hell's Kitchen- land of a thousand disgusting vagrants that hang out near Port Authority). Oh, and did I mention that it's right near Port Authority?

Food is great, but strangest thing when we went back a second time the other night The waiter gave us last call at 10;40 then at 10:45 said kitchen closed can't even get desert, 0 compromise Was very non-NY cool like. Left us w a bad taste
