Opened in 1985, the Noho Star has captured the attention of downtown regulars such as Wallace Shawn and Lauren Hutton with its half-American, half-Chinese menu. Potato pancakes, layered with wasabi-spiked crème fraîche and tuna sashimi, create a pleasing mix of temperatures, textures and flavors. Stilton-and-bacon burgers and specials such as braised lamb shank and Maine lobster are supplemented by various vegetarian dishes. Or, you can just drop in just for dessert: The colossal sundae is big enough for two.
