The Sea Grill
The Sea Grill
Just steps from NBC’s studios, Sea Grill offers local-celebrity spotting and, in winter, close-up views of folks wobbling on the Rock Center skating rink. Some items seem skimpy (at these prices, it takes nerve to offer potato chips as an entrée side), but chef Edward Brown turns out dependable seafood, like thick, moist crab cakes and superfresh salmon. The service is as sleek as the modern decor, which was revised by Adam Tihany a few years back, and the crème brûlée is to diet for.

"Oh look another proposal" - me when sitting at a table by the window.

At the ice-rink level of Rockefeller Center, this restaurant offers a wonderful meal with a bonus show! Watching people skate by, whether they are falling, creating wonderful routines, or even proposing, definitely makes your meal a bit more entertaining. If not anything else, this restaurant serves as a unique experience, especially if you snag a table by the window.

I was nervous that this restaurant, being in such a touristy place, would be so-so and basic, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised. From the sushi to the simple whole fish entrees, there is nothing that our party tried that we did not like.
