Who says a restaurant has to serve only food and drink? Not Carlos Quirarte, formerly of clothing label Earnest Sewn, who opens this mixed-use retail store/café/tattoo parlor this week. Alongside designer candles, clothes and accessories sits a coffee bar featuring a vintage 1963 Faema espresso machine, and a café with simple Mediterranean-influenced dishes including an open-faced fresh-ricotta sandwich. If a meal seems too fleeting, see if legendary tattoo artist Scott Campbell—whose studio is on the lower level—can get you something a bit more permanent.
