The Smith
This midtown spin-off offers the same menu of American brasserie fare (steaks, salads, pastas) as the East Village original. Take a seat at the L-shaped zinc bar and choose from dishes like the "Brooklyn-style" calamari (crispy fried squid with marinara) or a thick burger topped with cheddar and bacon. You'll also find raw-bar plates, like East and West Coast oysters, scallop ceviche and Lobster Louie—a seafood salad with a spicy and creamy dressing.

the smith is a classic - you can never go wrong if you have friends or family in town and want to go to a nice brunch. they usually start you off with some nice warm biscuits too.

The Smith is a popular spot with great menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you're heading their for brunch it's best to make a reservation as it can get pretty packed quickly. The food is always super fresh and delicious, and anyone who's partial to tasty, photo-worthy desserts will love the s'mores in a jar.

The Smith is a reliable place to go to whether you're with friends, on a date, grabbing a quick cocktail, or simply looking for a good meal. The venue is clean, the vibe is casual and fun, it's not overly crowded, and the food is good. Overall, I wouldn't make this a go-to destination if you're looking for a big "wow" factor, but I do think it's a classic New York location that you should visit if you're grabbing some drinks and dinner with friends or co-workers.

Dinner at this (these) restaurant(s) is normally very good, the crowd and atmosphere are always great and very ‘New York’ so I’m always happy to plan a dinner there for a big or smaller group.I’ve only done brunch on a few occasions and it definitely wasn’t their strong point, but still a great place

One word: Yum!

I've been to The Smith a few times for brunch and it never disappoints. The smoked salmon eggs benedict is by far my favorite dish, and the best eggs benedict I've ever had. The service is quick even though it's always packed in there.

Whether you go there for brunch, lunch, dinner, or just after work drinks, this place will never disappoint you. The Midtown location is a big space with a modern, minimalist décor. Every time I have been there it’s been packed, which means the folks at The Smith are doing something right. For brunch try the ranchero scramble if you like a Mexican taste with your eggs or the fantastic smoked salmon benedict. For you grit lovers out there, the jalapeno cheddar grits are a must. Some great dinner choices are the brick pressed chicken and ricotta gnocchi. The Smith has got it all going on, and then some.
