Time Out says

Despite a menu filled with smartly conceived Northern Italian dishes, an enviable wine list and a stylish, Sicilian drawing room decor, the dominant feature of Uva is noise. Packed with Upper East Siders on first dates, Uva reverberates with energy—but not necessarily the kind you’d want. And that’s a pity, considering the menu—with main courses such as ricotta gnocchi with black truffles, excellent pork tenderloin and sea scallops wrapped in speck—deserves the kind of attention virtually impossible amid the din.

Uva has been noted as one of the city’s most admired wine bar restaurants. The décor is elegant yet rustic with lots of exposed brick paired with glitzy chandeliers. Try to get a seat in the year- round back patio, which is a little oasis on the Upper East Side. You can also sit in the lovely main dining room or the private wine cellar. The vegetarian antipasto, which is made up of marinated, grilled vegetables, buffalo mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes is a great way to start out your meal. There are lots of amazing pasta and meat dishes so be sure to get there hungry.

Uva is a quaint little Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side! Ask to sit in the garden. It's a great date spot! I suggest the gnocchi or the cavatelli. The tiramisu is an excellent choice for dessert. I can't wait to come back for Meatball Monday!

Uva is very, very cute. Dim lighting, close quarters, and charming decor give it a very intimate feel. And the food! Get the bruschetta with ricotta and black truffle honey to start—you won't be disappointed. You really can't go wrong with any of their pastas or mains, either.

Uva is the perfect restaurant for a number of occasions - date night, girls night out, family dinners, etc. Its loud and cozy ambiance makes it a popular spot for weekends, so definitely make a reservation well in advance if you can. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic. You can sit inside in the main dining room or outside in the small courtyar dining area - both spots are great! All of the waiters and waitresses were incredibly helpful from ordering wine to deciding on what desserts to get. The only downfall of this place is how tight and narrow it is - you feel like you're stepping on diners' toes just trying to get to the bathroom. But the fact that it gets so crowded is clearly a strong indication of how great this place is!!

Make a reservation ahead of time and you won't be disappointed! I started out with a meat and cheese plate that was well presented and tasted just as great. There's not a lot of room at the bar if you're waiting for a table but the mixed drinks the make are awesome. Wine selection is huge. I recommend it if you're looking for something light. Presentation and flavor is the cornerstone of their business. Gamberoni Grigliati (jumbo shrimp with vegetables) was my choice.
