Italian restaurants with friendly if conservative regulars aren’t exactly an endangered species hereabouts. But this 24-year-old family-run spot is one of the few to also serve the classics of the Dalmatian Coast. That’s because the Ivanac clan are Croatian natives, and various Ivanacs will greet you warmly, come to your table to check on you and occasionally down a shot of schnapps with you at the end of your meal. Ask about their fresh specials like the chilled seafood jubilee, a deliciously straightforward mix of octopus, shrimp and calamari coated with balsamic dressing. You can also rely on the pastas and well-grilled steaks.
