Craving dim sum in the East Village? Pull up a chair at the bar and order a feast. Start with a purple yam pancake ($7), sticky rice in lotus leaf ($5.50), pork and crab soup dumplings ($9.95), scallion pancakes ($5.50) or braised chicken feet in secret sauce ($5.50). For your entree, you might try guilin mifen rice noodle soup ($11.99), dan dan rice noodles ($10.99) or hot and sour beef soup ($11.99). Don’t forget to try the wide assortment of bao: Yuan stuffs the buns with everything from pan-fried pork ($8.95) to golden egg yolks ($5.50). Got a sweet tooth? End the meal with red bean spring rolls or matcha ice cream (both $4.50).
