After sending her third—and youngest—child off to college, Upper East Side mom Amy Sachs poured her energy into opening her first women’s clothing store. On a mission to bring an edgier vibe to traditionally conservative uptown boutiques, Sachs’s cozy, brick-walled shop is decorated with photographs taken by her filmmaker son, and offers a collection of downtown-cool accessories ($20–$600) and clothing ($30–$800) from local and L.A. designers such as Veda, Charlie London and Dusica Dusica. Sachs and right-hand stylist Junell Banks work closely with customers to help them mix and match pieces, including Wildfox shopping is my cardio long-sleeved tees ($98), Enza Costa cashmere-and-cotton dresses ($180) and Siena Jewelry diamond-and-pyrite crescent necklaces ($560).
