AuH20 Thriftique

After graduating from NYU in 2006, Milwaukee native Kate Goldwater opened this funky shop, featuring a curated selection of vintage and thrift clothing ($5–$25) and accessories ($3–$30) that are easy on the eyes and the wallet. Most pieces inside are $30 or less and her finds are perfectly on-trend, which means you’ll find plenty of ’80s and ’90s pieces right now.

Half my wardrobe came from thrift shops, and I really like the offerings at AuH20 Thriftique in the East Village. This is a really small place, and it doesn't have a ton of items, but that's part of the appeal. Instead of accepting every scrap of clothing, this shop carefully selects what it puts on the racks. You'll find a selection of shoes, bags and clothes that are in good condition. Plus, the shop Instagrams a lot of its new finds, so you can stay up-to-date on its offerings without constantly dropping in. AuH20 Thriftique is also in a great location near a bunch of other thrift stores, including once right across the street, so you can include it in a day of thrift-store hopping through the East Village.
