A former buyer and director from Saks is the brains behind this midtown department store housed in a five-story prewar building…but it’s not your typical shopping mecca. The retail concept is more of a market (Bene Rialto actually means “good marketplace” in Italian) that features of a mix of goods from 40 (and counting) up-and-coming designers. Find everything from jewelry (starting at $50) to handbags ($250 and up) and ready-to-wear to men’s grooming and gifty items on the first three floors. The fourth floor is a showroom that connect designers to industry pros, and the top floor features an event space.
