Block Headwear (CLOSED)

Local milliner Ciomi McCabe opened this boutique after a brief stint at a smaller location around the corner. The designer hawks handcrafted hats for men and women ($35–$70), as well as her recently launched line of canvas-and-leather handbags ($70–$130). The vintage-esque decor of the shop takes inspiration from old Manhattan as expressed by refurbished artifacts from around the city (shelves salvaged from Soho buildings, old hatmaking machines and head blocks). Hemp fedoras ($60) and color-blocked linen-and-straw newsboy caps ($58) hang on door frames. You’ll also find cotton crochet beanies ($35) and old-timey baseball caps ($35–$50) from casual sister line Blue Marlin.
