Chef Csar Ramirez

Bouley protégé Cesar Ramirez makes the move to retail at this 5,000-square-foot gourmet grocery. While you can pick up everything from diapers to garbage bags, what’s most exciting is the menu of prepared foods created by the chef, including sushi, sandwiches and take-home meals.

This is the best Brooklyn Fare.  And OMG, their ice cream aisle kills it.  I've never seen so many ice cream and frozen dessert varieties.  Their beer selection is also 2nd to none now that Eagle Provisions has closed permanently. =(  They have some amazing sections like their butchery with aged meats, fish section with great sushi, and a nicely laid out produce section.  Their layout is interesting because you can totally get lost – it's not straight boring aisles, but rather meandering circuitous walks almost like Ikea.  I LOVE this place and always go there when I'm in the area.  FWIW, their Hells Kitchen location does not do service to their brand.
