This 60-year-old Austrian luxury brand, known for its elegant, colorful gold-and-enamel creations, will appeal to New Yorkers more likely to drop cash on funky statement pieces than Tiffany & Co. classics. Its first Gotham location (there are about 85 other stores scattered across the globe) makes its debut in a sleek, modern Madison Avenue shop. Artists and goldsmiths handcraft all of the baubles in Vienna, including vibrant, patterned enamel bangles ($1,395–$1,520); 18-karat yellow-and-white-gold printed rings with diamonds ($5,575–$11,895); and printed men’s enamel cufflinks ($790–$865). The eye-catching gems are inspired by mythology and celebrated painters, like Claude Monet and Austria’s own Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
