Having sold his high-end baubles ($1,000–$300,000) at Saks Fifth Avenue since 1994, Turkish jeweler Gurhan Orhan opens his first freestanding store. Wine-cellar doors separate the sales floor from the jeweler’s personal workshop. The handcrafted pieces incorporate gemstones, 24-karat gold and oxidized silver, resulting in hand-hammered bangles ($24,000), ruby stacking rings ($1,400–$25,000) and bejeweled mixed-metal bracelets ($54,000).
