Time Out says

In 1998, avid hiker Hall Newbegin launched this fragrance company in an attempt to capture the clean, simple scents he’d come across while trekking through California. Since the brand’s inception, its method has remained the same: All ingredients—such as black sage, pine needles and bark—are foraged, pressed and bottled in small batches. A first for the company, this temporary shop is designed by Californian Claudio Martonffy (claudiomartonffy.com), who adorned it with real wildflowers, plants and trees flown in from the West Coast. A video installation plays footage from Newbegin’s hiking trips, giving shoppers a look into the origins of the unisex soaps ($35), room sprays ($65) and colognes ($100–$135). Top picks include cedar-infused Yuba River room sprays ($65), olive-oil–based Inyo Trail body washes ($35) and sage-and-pine-sap Caruthers Canyon cologne ($122).
