Brothers Michael and Rick Mast operate this retail store, selling their entire line of specialty chocolates crafted directly from the bean in Brooklyn as well as confections and beverages (including the brand-new Chocolate beer). Bars include an 81 percent dark chocolate brightened with fleur de sel, while a rotating selection of new creations will be available at the flagship location only. And in case you're interested in how all the chocolatey-goodness is made, the shop offers walking tours, which are available daily.

This place is an awesome chocolate factory with a great story. The Mast brothers made their first batch of homemade chocolate by lugging up a bunch of cacao beans to their 3rd-floor walk-up and processing the beans into chocolate using a hairdryer and other in-house items. While the factory space in Williamsburg isn't the original location, that location is right down the street in the place that is now the Mast Brothers brew bar, where chocolate tea is brewed from cacao nibs. Not my favorite thing, honestly, but a really cool idea. You can take tours of the factory space, and I think they hold tasting and pairing events. Also, I LOVE the goat milk bar. You can actually taste the grassy notes in the chocolate.
