Mood Fabric
Sure, Project Runway contestants frequently rummage through this 40,000-square-foot garment district institution for jersey and satin to use in their latest sartorial creations, but Mood has always been a resource for both serious and amateur sewers not on reality TV. Its expert staff will help you navigate the mazelike shelves for the right organza, grosgrain ribbon and coconut buttons for that look you’ve been meaning to whip up.

Mood definitely got popular because of Project Runway, but honestly, what isn't there to like? This place is stocked full of fabrics and trimmings that any designer/crafter can get bug-eyed over. I've wasted maybe too much time and money scouring their offerings and buying things... that I may not necessarily need. I have never had problems finding any fabric that I've needed for one of my projects.
