Makeup artist François Nars opens the second Manhattan store for his cult-favorite cosmetics brand, featuring luxe products for lips ($22–$26), eyes ($21–$55), cheeks ($29–$65), nails ($19–$35) and skin ($29–$140). The all-white, 450-square-foot space was designed by Fabien Baron of New York design firm Baron & Baron (baron-baron.com), who installed chevron-patterned marble flooring, floor-to-ceiling mirrors with hidden screens looping Nars short films and a lacquered checkout counter that’s the same color as the label’s Jungle Red lipstick ($26). Artists personally trained by Nars offer makeup applications ($85) and lessons ($100), as well as brow shaping ($50) by appointment, with the prices for the services redeemable in product. We suggest cashing in on multipurpose cream sticks ($39), gel liners ($25) and tinted moisturizers ($42). You’ll find the NYC-inspired 413 BLKR collection—named after and previously sold exclusively at the West Village flagship—which includes rosy brown lipsticks ($26), violet gray eye shadows ($24) and navy varnishes ($19). Books by Nars, such as photography tome Tahiti: Faery Lands ($100) and instructional manual Makeup Your Mind: Express Yourself ($45) are also available for sale.
