Husband-and-wife owners Steve and Rachel Cooper have opened a second shop (the first is in Chelsea) to house their collection of vintage jewelry ($8–$35,000), which dates back as far as 1880. Pippin, named for the couple’s pet King Charles spaniel, is filled with label-less baubles as well as items from brands such as Paul Lobel, Art Smith and Peruzzi. Wood flooring, mosaic tiles, historic paintings and a vintage chandelier add to the boutique’s old-timey ambience. More than 3,000 pieces are under $50, including a 1950s multistrand bead-and-star necklace ($48), assorted clip-on earrings ($8–$42) and coin purses ($22–$32), which are displayed on dress forms and in wooden drawers. Pricier items rest behind glass cases, such as men’s diamond-and-platinum cufflinks ($400–$4,800), 1920s to 1950s engagement rings ($500–$25,000) and hand-carved diamond eternity bands ($500–$6,000). Look for one-of-kind costume pieces, such as Whiting & Davis mesh bib necklaces ($85–$125) and Illinois Watch Company gold-plated compacts ($135).
