Pop-Tarts were the kind of snack we’d gladly trade our balogna sandwich for in the elementary-school lunchroom. Those days may be long gone, but we can still indulge our inner processed-food-craving child at Times Square’s latest megastore. In addition to hourly laser-light shows and branded video games, you’ll find tote bags made from recycled materials (starting at $5), toaster-pastry-flavored lip balms ($5) and a station where you can design your own Pop-Tarts logo tee ($20)—all of which will seem like a good idea under the influence of a sugar high. Get that rush at the café in the center of the store, where you can nibble on brownies made with chocolate fudge Pop-Tarts and soft-serve ice cream blended with bits of the cookies-and-cream flavor. Indecisive eaters can hit the so-called Varietizer station to create their own custom-blended box, choosing from 23 flavors; ours would be a mix of S’mores and Brown Sugar Cinnamon, natch.
