Astoria is already known for being sweet and charming, so the Honey House feels right at home here. What most people don’t realize, though, is that New York City is surprisingly good for beekeeping. That’s exactly what owner Nick discovered when he moved into an apartment with a rooftop perfect for gardening and for housing a few hives. From that rooftop hobby came the Honey House, New York City’s very first dedicated honey and bee shop. Inside, you’ll find small-batch, flavored honeys made by Nick (with a little help from his bees, of course), along with beautifully crafted beeswax goods. The shop also doubles as a community space, hosting fun, hands-on workshops—like how to build the perfect charcuterie board—that make this place as buzzworthy as its name suggests.
