Time Out says

Situated on the ground floor of hotelier Andre Balazs’ new Meatpacking abode, The Standard, steps away from the guarded gates to the Boom Boom Room, and just ‘round the corner from the Grill and Biergarten, The Shop is anything but your typical hotel boutique. Hosting décor of black and white patterned tile floors, checker-board ceiling, polished mahogany wood walls and cabinetry, and a luxurious burgundy oriental rug, a mix of travel necessities and hip gifts are alluringly displayed against illuminated ruby red shelves and scattered atop a banana-yellow lacquer cashier counter. Overnight emergency staples (like single-use packages of Advil) are concealed in a wooden card-catalog inspired case sourced from an old apothecary, situated next to items that might be instigators for those spending the night in the upstairs love-shack (like IOU sex coupons, $6). Guests and visitors alike can pick up gourmand snacks (such as elaborately-packaged Marie Belle chocolates or colorful Papabubble oversized hard candy in fun shapes, $9 and up), accessories to adorn the elite traveler (Dita sunglasses, silk and cashmere scarves by Dianora Salviati, $195-$395; Brixton felt fedoras and straw Panama hats, $50-$65; or Wool and the Gang D-I-Y kits), fine jewelry (such as gold and silver pieces by Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield or Bliss Lau chain-link body jewelry, $140-$300) and various items you most likely don’t need but are too inviting to resist (such as Krink drip-ink graffiti markers, $8).
