The Sock Hop

Thanks to this Nolita store that stocks an impressive array of indie designer socks and tights, layering up for fall just got way more fun. Metal shelves and old wood fixtures fill the quirky, small space, which is decorated with mason-jar lamps and vintage silk-stockings packaging. The foot coverings range from functional (worsted-wool camp socks by Fox River, $30) to cheeky (Ozone colorful knee-high argyles, $24) to downright fancy (Milan designer Maria La Rosa’s $60 patterned-cuff knee socks and $110 mohair leggings). You’ll also find additional accessories, including Col. Littleton handcrafted Americana leather duffle bags ($950), canvas messenger bags from Duluth Pack ($225), vintage dead-stock NFL beanies ($25) and authentic logger’s suspenders by Oregon’s Welch Company ($40).
