Great grocer. Has everything that you need and it has the uniqueness of having on site produce growing on the roof! As with most Whole Foods, it's got quality meats, produce, and fresh made sections that really satisfy any hunger or food needs. The only drawback as you probably already know, is that you do have to pay for the selection and for the quality and the prices are higher than most other local markets. But if you shop their specials and download their app, there are always some good finds that you can get as well. Overall, this place is what you're looking for as a market - clean, well lite, great selection, nice staff, good location.
For me? The best grocery store in the entire country. Pretty dang cheap groceries when you buy the Whole Foods store brands.
Most people call this 3rd & 3rd, though I supposed it's ok to call it Whole Foods. But it's SO much more. 3rd & 3rd goes above and beyond all other Whole Foods locations in the world. They grow their own veggies on their roof in green houses year round. They use solar and wind power from solar panels in the parking lot that also provide shade for cars and nifty wind turbines all over the property. They have art along the meandering walkway along the Gowanus. They have electric-car-only parking spots with free charging! They have a bar upstairs where you can order in, or bring food from the market. They have a nose-to-tail butcher enclosed in glass with full animals hanging from hooks. They have an old-school knife sharpening service. They have an excellent vegan, beer, and ice cream selection. Their prepared food is even better than the usually-amazing Whole Foods food. Such a great place!
