Skn Spa
Co-owner Darren Shaw has more than 15 years of experience in the spa industry and owns eight other spots throughout the city. With this most recent venture, he hopes to pamper Hell’s Kitchen locals with soothing treatments such as facials ($85–$250) and massages ($50–$165). The space features exposed-brick walls, calming shades of gray and blue, subtle lighting and fresh flowers. Clients can unwind in one of two lounges, including a backyard garden where massages are often given. Indulge in a hot-stone rubdown (60mins $125, 90mins $165) or a hydrating Dead Sea mud wrap ($85). A basic 60-minute facial ($85) not only cleanses and exfoliates your epidermis, but also includes a 20-minute arm, shoulder and neck massage.

One of the nicest spas in town. If you are a person who enjoys luxury spas this place is a must to try. I have been here several times and always get excellent customer service. The minute you walk in to the minute you leave you will get first class service. All the staff and management really care about their customers.

I have been to a lot of spas in my life from nice to fancy. Not the name that makes the customer service. It's start from management to all the employees. I have been to plenty of spas that where good and the customer service was bad. If you are coming here to relax or for a weekend you will really enjoy your time here. No questions this one of the best spas around.

every time i come back, it ALWAYS smells so nice in here. i'm greeted almost immediately; the receptionist always offers me a generous amount of water/tea. facials with kerri is always pleasant. after the facial she would also give me a thing of chocolate along with some water and a hot hand towel, which i think is a brilliant gesture ,because it makes you feel extra pampered. i feel like you get more than what you pay for, highly recommend this spa.

I have both a facial and massage at SKN Spa - both were excellent! Intense and thorough treatments from a kind and courteous staff. I'm not a regular spa person but after my visit I bought a package for 5 more treatment. A must visit Hell's Kitchen gem.

My friend give me a spa week gift card for my birthday. Scheduling was relatively painless and the experience was excellent. The facility is beautiful. Really relaxing in all the different waiting areas. They have front, back waiting areas and semi outdoor waiting area to relax. The girl who did my facial was very capable and made me feel comfortable throughout the facial. My skin felt super smooth, bright and clean afterwards. It was a 5 star experience! Thank you SKN Spa. I would definitely go back.

Came here yesterday to use a voucher I purchased off gilt city for a Basic Facial. Let me preface by saying, I get regular facials at higher end salons, but figured for $39 dollars, what could it hurt? I'm getting married in 2 and a half weeks and figured if nothing else, it will be relaxing. I arrived 15 minutes early, as is expected in most places, and filled out the paperwork. The girl at the front desk was sweet- offered me water while I wait and was friendly. I then waited more than a half hour. At 6:15 (For my 6:00 appt, not cool when you have dinner plans after), I was brought to the back of the spa by Erika. Erika was nice in the beginning, being thorough. Although, I have combination skin and she insisted it was dry and that I have fine lines (hmmm never heard that before). She proceeded with the first half of the facial, and other than the most painful extractions I've ever had, it was ehhh okay. Then it took a turn for the worse. She applied a cold mask on a face (had to leave the room TWICE) to get it prepped, covered my eyes with it and then proceeded to place 2 pieces of kleenex on the sides of my face, then LEFT THE ROOM. She said this will take 15 minutes, I'll be back in 12 minutes to check on you. I have never in my entire life not had someone massage me at this point. As soon as she left the room, the masque slid down the side of my face, filling my ear with slime and into the base of my hair- also not cool when you have dinner plans after, then repeated on the other side. So here I am, my eyes sealed shut, slime filling my ears, so incredibly uncomfortable it's not even funny. I am here to relax and stressing like a mad woman at this point. It seemed like she was gone for an hour, realistically it was 30 minutes. (I know this because the appt. ran 15 minutes longer than expected.) A half hour is a long time to spend stressing alone with slime in your eyes while you are supposed to be relaxing pre-wedding. She wiped everything off, started telling me about some 5 for 250 deal to which I quickly NIXED. You couldn't pay me 250 dollars to do that 5 times. Left LOTS of masque all in my hair and told me it was all out repeatedly after I kept pulling white chunks out of the nape of my neck. My pearl earrings had to be professionally cleaned, and I spent more than the $39 on the facial on wine and dinner (to which I was a half hour late) with a gf to relax about my stressful spa experience. Spend a little more somewhere else and I actually relax, at least that's my recommendation. And if you start to feel the slimy mask slipping, get help before it's too late.

I got my first-ever hot stone massage, a 60-minute one, on my first visit to SKN Spa recently, and was so impressed with the service. He used hot stones to dug into the sore parts of my back, shoulders, neck and legs, telling me which spots felt tight as well as what to expect the next day. There was a moment or two when I wasn't sure I could take the heat, and was about to ask him to take the stones away, but I kept them there and am so glad I did. The heat was intense and effective. I walked out feeling extremely energetic and walked 15 blocks home while enjoying the beautiful day. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism and high-quality service. I will definitely be back.

I had the best facial in years - my skin felt amazing after and the results were lasting even after weeks. The facial itself was so relaxing, she did an amazing job incorporating massage. Sophia had one of the best attitudes... she didn't push products, she was positive and didn't berate you for not moisturizing/exfoliating/whatever it was enough, like they do at some spas I've been to. If you're looking for a swanky experience with champagne and a sauna, then this isn't really it... it is, however, wholesome, fresh, and incredibly relaxing! I always love to go to little small cozy places which doesn't have any corporate feel to it. Skn spa is one such place. Luv the place :)

I saw Ryan for a 60-minute massage the other day. I was run quite ragged and finally just picked a massage place to give a shot. I found SKN SPA in my neighborhood. It was one of the best massages of my life -- maybe the best. He is detail-oriented, strong and knowledgeable about muscle anatomy. I needed a deep tissue massage. I am still a little sore the second day after this massage from all the work. But I will be back. I love to get massages, but I don't like when I pay for a massage and it's just okay. I have a feeling that Ryan will not ever disappoint, so I think I'll be changing my routine to allow for regular massages. I can feel myself getting healthier already.

Hands down, the best facial I have ever received! Why I heart SKN Spa: * The deco is amazing. * Massage that made me feel like I was literally floating. * Dreamy aromatherapy. * Intensely exfoliating and healing treatments. * Relaxing, professional atmosphere. * Post-facial thank you email is sweet. Thanks a million Fairy. You are the best!

Great place...very relaxing, tranquil, and happy to accommodate. They were able to sneak in a few services for me last-minute and with my tight schedule. Well-priced, especially for the ambience and location. I'll be returning there.
