Everybody in the pool! These prenatal classes emphasize strengthening the inner thighs, hips, back and abdomen; benefits include improved balance and coordination, more energy and greater lung capacity (all the better for screaming during labor). Aqua Mom’s classes also help reduce pressure on the back and the sciatic nerve, improve endurance for an easier labor, and hasten post-labor recovery; plus, pool exercises help decrease the incidence of varicose veins and high blood pressure. Class size is limited to 10, a bathing suit and towel are necessities, and we’ve been assured that the pool is kept at a comfortable temperature.
