Cindy Lee, longtime yoga practitioner and Tibetan Buddhist, manages to stand out of the competitive and over-saturated NYC yoga crowd. In the last 10 years, her studio, Om Yoga Center, has grown in popularity and square footage – now occupying an entire floor. Today the center staffs 25 teachers and offers more than 65 Hatha Vinyasa classes weekly for students of all levels. Decorated with the help of Feng Shui consultants, this classy center is lined with wood floors and gets plenty of sunlight. Teachers who have graduated from the Center's teacher training courses lead full classes through a playful mix of hatha postures, meditation and chanting. Om Yoga is taught in various other locations, too, including Alvin Ailey Dance Center, Dance New Amsterdam and private corporate spaces.
