debbie tucker green’s brief, bleak play has a stern formality that belies the headlong intensity of its profane arias about a father's crime against his daughter. The play's notes, syncopated in a British-Caribbean cadence, eventually coalesce into a crushing chord of dysfunction, but green's approach (emphasized by director Leah C. Gardiner) is so emphatically arid that its pleasures are astringent indeed.—Helen Shaw
