Chimera

This deft character study about chimerism, a rare phenomenon that leaves a fetus with enough genetic material for two people, is itself two struggling halves grafted intimately together. This sometimes has marvelous effects: Deborah Stein's solo piece plays perfectly into actor Suli Holum’s strengths. But the first half seems to contain the play’s best material.—Helen Shaw
