Church of the Nativity

This modest, unprepossessing church endured the East Village's grittier years by adapting to the shifting needs of its diverse parish. It now offers academic scholarships to local parishioners, and sponsors educational outreach programs in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn.
