In Stephen Belber’s bittersweet and quietly wonderful romantic two-hander, the hyperverbose Molly (Kate Walsh, in a smart turn) is reunited by chance with Ray (the superb Paul Sparks), a teenage fling from 25 years earlier—but events from his past may dampen the match. Takeshi Kata’s undulating wooden set is lovely, and Sam Gold directs the play with exemplary attention to nuance. Walsh and Sparks share an intimate, wary dance; this production gives them no false steps.—Adam Feldman
