Encores!: Love Life

City Center's invaluable concert-staging series Encores! continues its 28th season with this 1948 rarity by Kurt Weill and Alan Jay Lerner, directed by Victoria Clark. Kate Baldwin and Brian Stokes Mitchell star in this high-concept tale of an American family that, à la The Skin of Our Teeth, spans 150 years of American history without aging. The score includes "Here I'll Stay" and "I Remember It Well" (which Lerner later repurposed for Gigi); Rob Fisher conducts the orchestra.
