Farmhouse/Whorehouse: An Artist Lecture by Suzanne Bocanegra Starring Lili Taylor

Frances McDormand delivered a lecture by artist Suzanne Bocanegra in 2013's Bodycast, part of that year's Next Wave Festival. Now Lili Taylor performs another text by Bocanegra: a reflection on her childhood in Texas, where her grandparents had a farm near the Chicken Ranch (immortalized as the titular institution of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas). Lee Sunday Evans directs the New York premiere, which includes an original song by Shara Nova set to lyrics by Bocanegra's grandmother.
