Gong Lum’s Legacy

Woodie King Jr.’s New Federal Theatre teams up with the Peccadillo Theater Company to mount Charles L. White's drama about the romance between a Chinese immigrant and a Black schoolteacher in the Deep South in 1925. Elizabeth Van Dyke directs the world premiere, whose cast is led by Hansel Tan and DeShawn White.
