Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical

After a super-groovy national tour, the hippies return to Broadway for a summer engagement. Director Diane Paulus's high-energy, refreshingly unsentimental production of the classic 1968 counterculture musical tries to turn on a new generation of disaffected youth; original cast members Steel Burkhardt, Darius Nichols and Kacie Sheik are standouts in the reprise.—David Cote
