Even as today's American arts scene endures aggressive political interventions, New Perspectives Theatre Company and Culture Lab LIC team up to present a multimedia exploration of the Federal Theatre Project—an ambitious New Deal program that employed thousands of people in the late 1930s—and its intrepid director, Hallie Flanagan, whose intentions were aspersed by the red-baiting House Un-American Activities Committee. The show has been created collaboratively by Melody Brooks, Katrin Hilbe, Tess Howsam, Daniel Jacobs and Susan Quinn; Theresa Rose leads a cast of ten as Flanagan.
