The astutely curated Brits Off Broadway festival hosts the American premiere of a quasiromantic comedy by Peter Nichols (A Day in the Death of Joe Egg), which borrows a character from the playwright's acclaimed 1977 farce, Privates on Parade, and follows him to 1950s Italy. Michael Gieleta directs a production that debuted to acclaim in London this past summer.
