Eric Simonson's appealing play about legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi isn't just a piece of gridiron hagiography; its subject is depicted both as a tactical genius and an almost comically driven buffoon. Lombardi (vigorously embodied by Dan Lauria) may not have been the greatest husband or father, but he built a winning team in the 1960s out of discipline, unflagging willpower and lots of shouting.—David Cote
