Time Out says

Actor Ned Van Zandt performs a candid and sometimes graphic autobiographical solo show about his years as a heroin addict, directed by Amir Arison and accompanied by Mike Moore on electric guitar. It's a tale of junk and two kinds of punk: the subservient prisoner and the rebellious rocker. Most of the story unfolds in a Texas correctional facility in the 2000s, where a discomfittingly handsome white supremacist gave him protection in exchange for acting lessons and sexual favors. But he also tells of a misspent youth that landed him at the Chelsea Hotel in the late 1978s, where he interacted with Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen on the night of her murder. (He's convinced that Vicious was innocent, and believes he knows who actual killed her.) The show's two halves don't quite fit together, and Van Zandt tends toward broadness when playing people other than himself. But his lurid history is undeniably compelling, and you leave grateful that he's still alive to tell it.—Adam Feldman
