Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

The gifted Julia Jarcho (Grimly Handsome) offers a fractured look at Georg Büchner's bleak 1836 drama Woyzeck in a meta, queer-inflected quasi-musical in which she also makes her acting debut alongside Jennifer Seastone and Kedian Keohan, and for which she also cowrote the desultory songs (with Jeff Aaron Bryant). The show assumes—and all but demands—intimate familiarity with the source material, but even if you know the original quite well, this account feels insular and bloodless; under Aacute;sta Bennie Hostetter's direction, only Seastone delivers the material with the confidence needed to bring it into focus.—Adam Feldman
