New York Clown Theater Festival

Parade starts at Union Square subway station, Union Sq East at 14th St. Subway: L, N, Q, R, 4, 5 ,6 to 14th St–Union Sq. Event continues at the Brick Theater, 575 Metropolitan Ave between Lorimer St and Union Ave, Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Subway: L to Lorimer St, G to Metropolitan Ave. Even if you emerged from your childhood thinking that clowns are creepy and gross, there's still a chance you'll have fun at this fest, which caters to a more grownup crowd (in other words, no squirting flowers). Today, join the goofball crew of jugglers, stilt-walkers and more at Union Square, then ride the L train together to the Brick Theater in Williamsburg for a giant, public pie fight, after which a Clown Cabaret will preview festival highlights.
